Hochkant crafted transport equipment, furniture and workshops from solid oak, complementing these with tools faithfully reproduced in their original form. The assembly process was logistically challenging: beams weighing up to 280 kilograms had to be moved through a gate just 99 centimetres wide and transported over a distance of 600 metres, before being positioned with precision. Only a mini-excavator and a dumper were used, supported by extensive manual labour.
The result is seven themed stations that combine knowledge and experience, providing a realistic insight into the working methods of medieval castle construction.
