Rapunzel Visitor Centre Vegetable Playground

For the Rapunzel Visitor Centre in Legau, we created a nut and vegetable-themed playground where younger visitors can engage with cocoa beans and other ingredients in a playful way.

The entire play area was conceived, designed and planned in collaboration with the Wilhelm family, who own the centre. We
also received additional support from an experienced playground designer during the design phase. We were also responsible for the planning and construction of the play equipment: from a climbable (Turkish) hazelnut with a tube slide and low ropes course to the rotating carrot and vegetable seating, everything was developed and constructed in-house. As the play equipment was also built in our production hall, communication lines were short and we were able to react flexibly where necessary. And the same team that manufactured the elements later installed them on site. This means the construction team also knows exactly what to look out for during assembly. The seven-metre-high hazelnut

play structure, in particular, posed special challenges for its construction. Due to its slope, the structural calculations required a great deal of attention and specialist expertise. In addition, the play equipment had to be integrated into the structure in such a way that the nut retains its characteristic shape and, consequently, its recognisability.
