State Garden Show Includes a garden playhouse

As part of the 2024 Wangen State Garden Show, hochkant developed, designed and built a multi-storey garden play structure featuring various play levels and integrated water play elements. The brief was to create an inclusive adventure playground that met all client requirements in terms of construction, play value and design. A 6.5-metre-high wooden play structure now stands on the grounds of the State Garden Show, blending perfectly with the show’s overall design. To connect the structure to a water play area, a landing ramp for play rafts was integrated into the ground floor.
In appearance, the garden play box resembles stacked wooden blocks. These are creatively designed play and activity spaces on different levels, suitable for children of all ages. They are accessible via a circular platform and sloping ramp staircase, which is also accessible to wheelchair users.
Visually, the garden show theme runs like a ‘green thread’ through the play area: coloured acrylic glass bathes the interior in green light, solid wood wall elements are reminiscent of garden fences, and green façade elements literally elevate nature to a new level of perception.
