Places to experience, with an eye for what really matters “Places of Happiness” Oberstdorf

The project centred on Oberstdorf combines nature, culture and knowledge in a unique way. Under the title ‘ming Plätzle’, six new stations have been erected which showcase selected locations whilst raising awareness of the importance of treating the environment and landscape with care.

The aim of the project is to strengthen appreciation for the region through information and an enhanced visitor experience – and to facilitate effective visitor management. hochkant was responsible for developing the conceptual design, the detailed and construction planning, and the structural implementation of the project.
The individual elements – including stelae, benches and a hammock net – were pre-assembled in the company’s own production hall and subsequently installed on site. Thematically, the stations are based on the four elements – fire, water, air and earth – complemented by the distinctive features of the respective locations. Durable materials such as local larch and lacquered, printed stainless steel were used.
