Wolfegg Farmhouse Museum Discovery Trail
A total of 14 themed stations enhance the outdoor grounds of the Farm Museum in Wolfegg (Baden-Württemberg). The information boards focus on the cultural history of Upper Swabia and the associated changes to the landscape.
The client’s wish was to encourage visitors to get involved and ensure that children also have fun. For this reason, interactive elements were integrated into almost all the display panels. Pull-out, folding, rotating or sliding panels convey the content clearly and deepen knowledge in an engaging way. Further interactive elements include a kinetic audio station for listening to the rarely heard song of the lark and a dexterity game on the theme of haymaking.
It was also important to the client that the information pillars did not obstruct the view of the landscape, that they blended naturally into the surroundings, and that they were accessible to all. The design specifications were met through the bespoke development of lectern-style pillars. A larch wood base provides the desired natural look, which over time will develop the typical grey patina caused by UV radiation, explains hochkant Managing Director Werner Wechsel.
