Würzburg, Guttenberger Forest Forest Adventure Trail
On behalf of the Arnstein Forestry Office (Bavarian State Forests) and the Bavarian Forestry Administration, the ageing forest nature trail in the Guttenberg Forest was renovated, with existing installations being replaced or supplemented.
The client’s request was to place particular emphasis on one tree species: the oak. This tree species, which is typical of the area, is not only the focus of the interactive stations; the wood used to construct the information pillars and play stations also comes from it.
As part of this project, the existing squirrel mascot was also given a new look. This clever little creature accompanies younger visitors in particular through the forest and inspires them to experience it with all their senses. It explains the interrelationships within the forest ecosystem, imparts knowledge about sustainable forest management and showcases the rich diversity of flora and fauna in the Guttenberg Forest.
