Fly-Line Schömberg Forest flight

Our task was to transform a planned 55-metre-high observation tower into a versatile event venue by installing a zip line and a flying fox.
The starting point of the zip line – a cantilevered ramp on the observation tower – is situated at a height of ‘just’ 35 metres above the ground. From there, participants glide through the landscape in a comfortable harness along a stainless steel tube. Immediately after the start, participants circle part of the observation tower at a constant speed of 12 km/h before reaching a lattice tower erected specifically for this purpose. Here, the ride takes them on a winding journey into the structure, through it and around it. Due to the winding spiral descent, participants quickly lose altitude and can thus, after a total flight distance of around 500 metres, glide relaxed into the landing area, a wooden platform in the forest.
To be able to transport the Fly-Line shuttles, including safety equipment, back to the starting point undamaged, we have developed special transport trolleys. These trolleys can be rolled directly from the shuttle vehicle into the tower lift.
hochkant was involved in the project from the outset, as the integration of the event elements and their design had to be taken into account in the overall planning of the tower. The planning and construction of the flight systems, as well as the certified training of the operating staff, were also part of the contract.
