Rappbode Dam Giga-Swing

We have incorporated a truly spectacular adrenaline-pumping attraction into the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge at the Rappbode Dam in the Harz Mountains. Using the ‘Giga-Swing’, daring visitors can plunge 75 metres into the depths and swing across the valley.
The action takes place in a gondola situated approximately 100 metres above the Bode reservoir in the centre of the bridge structure. Access is via the gently swaying suspension bridge itself. Here, the thrill-seekers are prepared for the jump. They are kitted out with a ‘jumpsuit’, briefed on the safety rules, checked by the instructors and hooked into the safety point. At this stage, the participant can decide whether they want to be unhooked by the instructor or whether they want to actively take the leap into the depths themselves (passive/active jump).

3-2-1 and go! In “free fall”, the descent continues 75 metres until the participants are caught by a pendulum-like movement. Once the jump has come to a stop, a digitally controlled winch pulls the participants back up into the gondola.
