Rappbode Dam Wall running
Over the past 10 years, a unique tourist destination has been created at Germany’s highest dam, featuring a Mega-Fox, a wall-running facility and a suspension bridge with a Giga-Swing. To ensure the venue’s long-term viability, the operators (Harzdrenalin GmbH) have decided to expand the site with an event tower approximately 40 metres high.
Wall running is an adrenaline-fuelled experience in which participants run down vertical walls face down. To do this, participants are lowered in a controlled manner using a harness, which is connected to an instructor via a safety rope.
The idea for this event at the Wendefurther dam, which stands 43 metres high, came from the facility’s operators. We at hochkant provided consultancy support for the project in terms of safety and technology, and took care of organising the safety equipment, the inspection and the training.
