Stelzenhäuser in Neukirch Orchard Chalets
On a farm in the Lake Constance district, two new stilt houses complement the existing chalet complex and offer additional retreats amidst an orchard meadow.
hochkant was involved in the first phase of construction and was also responsible for the planning and implementation of the extension. The new units follow the tried-and-tested concept: 48 m² of living space, high-quality interior fittings, a panoramic sauna and a spacious, covered terrace.
Unlike the first chalets, access is now via traditional stairs – an adaptation to the steeper terrain that has allowed for a gentle integration into the topography.
As before, the focus was on harmonious integration into the landscape. Large windows offer views of the Säntis, whilst extended roof surfaces provide shade on the terrace. The architecture remains understated, creating a natural connection between the built space and its surroundings.
